This extremely, valuable painting painted by Vincent Van Gogh, is so famous people in our days would buy it for more than $40 Million. ‘Sunflowers’ is the name. It was quite a big painting, at the size of 73 x 92 cm, now that’s big. The other characteristic was its medium. He had used expensive oil paints to paint it. Vincent painted ‘Sunflowers’ in the year 1888, 2 years before his death.
The texture of this painting was often very thick. To describe the feel, it would feel as if you were running your hand over pebbles. He used up so much paint, that he didn’t have enough money to buy any food for himself.
Van Gogh never often used straight lines for this piece art. They were more curvy and squiggly like. Loose and free is kind of what the flowers tend to be. I reckon he painted like that to make it more realistic.
The colour of the painting is bright and sunny. All the colours make me feel happy and relaxed. Bright and unique colours really make good effect to the painting. He may have been in a very good mood, for a depressed man like him.
If you look at it a certain way, it kind of looks like its slightly moving. I sometimes forget that it's just a painting instead of a moving object. It’s quite unique that he used that kind of technique to make the painting look as if its swishing side to side. I find the painting very fascinating and beautiful.
Van Gogh painted the Sunflowers as a decoration for his flatmate’s room. Paul Gauguin (Van Goghs flatmate) had no idea that Van Gogh was doing this for him. Now I get why he used bright sunny colours. If you look closely, you can see that he drew the flowers dying and healthy.
I think he was in a really good mood while painting this desired piece of art. Although, he may have been very hungry at the time of this painting. Its sad that he never got to know how good his paintings really were.
Look at the third paragraph and see if this check list suits it.

Making a Origami Cup
Earlier this week at Extension, we made cups using the art of Origami. Origami is a type art which includes folding paper to make anything you want. During this Origami session, I made a movie to show that it really happened. I know it seems imposible but it worked. Follow the steps and try make it to see if you can do the magic.
P.S- Make sure the water stays in your cup for 5 seconds or so.

Going to The Blues Game
Waiting upon the motorway all dressed in blue, my Aunty , brother and I just couldn’t wait to get to the Blues game. While my dad was driving, my favourite song came on. Singing along, my dad announced “we’re here”. “Yay” ,we shouted.
Checking our tickets, the lady standing there goes, “Are you Amiria’s brother ?” to my dad. All of a sudden my Aunty walks in. “Come on kids, we’re going up now” she said to us.
Making our way to our seats, my dad was kind of annoyed because we were sitting in the same seats again. Watching the big screen, my dad gave us hot chocolates and wedges.
Finally the game had started. Waiting for someone to get tackled, it felt like I was getting sweaty just by watching the game. This would have to be the only RUGBY game that I’m really into.
As the Blues got closer to the try line, I desperately needed to go toilet. Running to the toilet, I tried not to miss too much of the action. As I walked through the doors, right in front of me was a tv. Even better, It was a flat screen tv. Or that’s what I thought.
Sitting back down, I looked at the big screen and it was only 10 seconds left. “Come on blues you can do it get this is your chance!!!” my dad and I were shouting. Sadly they lost. Although the blues didn’t win, we still had a ton of fun.

Frogs
What are frogs? Well frogs are amphibians. If you don’t know what amphibians mean then let me explain it. Amphibians are animals that live on both land and water.
The life cycle of a frog goes a tadpole to a froglet then of course a frog. When they are born most frog parents leave their precious babies alone. Growing up as a frog is kind of scary because you never know when another will eat you. Luckily not all of them do that.
When frogs are little(tadpoles), they are herbivores. But, the unusual thing is when they grow up they are carnivores. I think the reason is because when they are little, of course they won’t be able to eat or swallow things bigger than themselves. Did you know that frogs use their eyes to help them swallow their food? Its weird but true.
Frogs don’t only breath through their nostrils but they also absorb half the air the body needs. The skin is also used to drain water into its skin to make sure the body doesn’t
dry out. Skin. The frog's skin(some of them) is useful for confusing predators and making it look like they’re not there.I wish we had skin like that so when we play hide and go seek they won’t find us.
Some frogs are poisonous. You can tell because they have an unusual coloured type of skin. As I said before these are the clever frogs that can sometimes be camouflaged. If you think about it, wouldn't the predator recognize because they can see their eyes. Anyway that's a pretty clever way to not getting eaten by your predator.
Different frog species make different sounds. Some of them croak, whistle, grunt, and some of them go ‘Ribbit Ribbit’. All in all, these are some very odd but interesting facts about one weird creature. The Frog.

Haiku About Mrs Telea
Rock Our World is a global project that involves over thirty schools around the world. This project was al created by a lady call Carol McGuire. A part of Rock Our World, we have been learning about poetry and Haikus. A haiku has 5 syllables in 1 sentence, 7 in the other and 5 in the last sentence which means it has 3 senences. Our Extension group had our first go at writing a haiku. Here is my Haiku about Mrs Telea's face.
